The most dominant name in UNLTD Off-Road Racing is Adam Householder, and the most dominant shock in the series is King Shocks. UNLTD’s defending Unlimited Truck class champion scored his latest and greatest triumph on Saturday at the 2024 Mint 400, where he carried King Shocks to overall victory over four laps on the toughest course in off-road racing. Householder’s winning time of 6:46:59 was more than 11 minutes clear of his closest competition.
For Householder, the win was his third straight in class in UNLTD competition. The #24 Unlimited Truck team also won last October’s California 300 overall, while placing third overall and first in class in January at the return of the Parker 400. This year’s results have enabled him to hold the UNLTD points lead as he prepares to defend his California 300 victory in Barstow in October to wrap up the season.
“I’ve been on King Shocks since day one when I started my off-road career,” said Householder. “Brett’s been behind me since I came up in this realm, and King supports me with whatever I need to make sure that I go fast. I do all my own shock tuning and rebuilding in house to get these trucks up on pace, and King gives me whatever I need to perform the best I possibly can with them. Having King Shocks at the Mint 400 is huge. My truck works really good in the rough, and I worked really hard on that because the faster you can push it in the rough and make it smooth and not feel like it’s tearing up the truck is very beneficial.”
Joining Householder on Saturday’s Unlimited Race overall podium for King were the Grabowski Brothers, who finished second in the Unlimited Truck SPEC class with a time of 7:03:16. The Grabowskis qualified second in class on Friday before charging through the field early in Saturday’s race, getting up to sixth overall at the halfway point before picking off multiple additional positions in the second half.
EJ Herbst, Brett Comiskey, and Cole Hardin were among the other racers to post strong finishes with King in Saturday’s Unlimited Race. Herbst scored third place in the Unlimited Truck SPEC class and sixth overall, while Comiskey edged out Hardin for the final spot in the overall top 10 by just over a minute and a half. Comiskey’s 7:36:09 was good for second among the 4WD Unlimited Trucks and fourth among all Unlimited Truck entries, while Hardin’s 7:37:46 was seventh-best in the SPEC class.
In Friday’s Limited Race, multiple racers also rode King Shocks to class victories and podiums. Two-thirds of the Class 10 podium—winner Tyler Mills and third place finisher Nick May, both of whom also finished in the overall top five—relied on King to take them to victory, while Sean Krepsz Jr. added an overall top 10 as the fifth place finisher in the UTV Pro Open class. Other major class winners for King in the Limited Race included Class 5’s Devon Murachanian, Class 5-1600’s Raul Solano, Class 11’s Blake Wilkey, and an all-star lineup of off-road legends in Class 12 led by Sammy Ehrenberg.
“Congratulations to all of our King Shocks racers for another amazing Mint 400, especially Unlimited Truck race winner Adam Householder,” said Brett King. “These results prove yet again that when it comes to excelling in the toughest off-road races in the world, nothing rides like a King. We can’t wait to get back to the Mint next year to defend our wins, and we’re looking forward to returning home to Barstow in October for the California 300 as our racers go for this year’s UNLTD titles!”
