Cayden MacCachren Conquers the 2025 Baja 1000

The 2025 SCORE Desert Series is officially in the books—and Polaris RZR Factory Racing didn’t just win it. They owned it.

With a gritty and hard-fought victory at the 58th Baja 1000, Cayden MacCachren and co-driver Ethan Groom delivered the final blow in an undefeated season for the RZR Factory team, securing Polaris’ third-straight Baja 1000 win and locking down a complete series sweep.

Behind him, Max Eddy Jr. and Polaris-supported racer Branden Sims crossed the line in second and third, completing yet another all-Polaris podium sweep—the third consecutive SCORE race where the RZR Pro R Factory filled the entire UTV Overall podium.

Baja didn’t stand a chance.

A Brutal Baja 1000, A Breakthrough Victory

This year’s Baja 1000 was no casual cruise. The 835-mile point-to-point route delivered some of the roughest terrain in recent memory—endless rocks, bottomless silt, high-risk ridgelines, and bottlenecks that swallowed competitors all day and night.

For MacCachren, it was the moment he had been chasing all season.

After handing the opening miles to Groom, he climbed into the driver’s seat around race mile 411 and unleashed a relentless charge through San Felipe whoops and tight technical sections that define Baja at its most unforgiving. The push paid off.

MacCachren muscled the No. 1821 RZR Pro R Factory to victory, marking his second-career Baja 1000 win and cementing his reputation as one of the sport’s most composed and calculating young drivers.

“Ending the season with a Baja 1000 win feels incredible,” said MacCachren. “I’m grateful to Ethan, Hailey, the entire RZR Factory Racing crew, and Polaris engineering for building the most dominant UTV in the sport.”

Polaris Dominates the Podium—Again

The Baja 1000 wasn’t just a win—it was a statement.

Branden Sims — 2nd Place Overall

Polaris-supported racer Sims ran a disciplined race, using patience early to survive the carnage and unleashing speed when it mattered most.

Max Eddy Jr. — 3rd Place Overall

Eddy Jr. turned in his strongest performance of the year, navigating the chaos of Baja with precision and speed across one of the toughest courses to date.

Together, they completed the third consecutive Polaris podium sweep, further proving that the RZR Pro R Factory is currently unmatched in the open UTV class.

Brock Heger Secures Third Straight SCORE Championship

While the Baja 1000 win stole the spotlight, another storyline closed out the season: Brock Heger securing his third consecutive SCORE Pro UTV Open Championship.

Heger played the long game at the Baja 1000, running a controlled, methodical pace to ensure he banked the points needed for the title. His fifth-place finish sealed the deal and completed Polaris’ championship points sweep, with Max Eddy Jr. finishing second in the standings and MacCachren taking third.

Three Polaris drivers. Three championship positions.

Total domination.

The RZR Pro R Factory: Baja-Proven, Baja-Perfected

The 2025 season left no doubt: the Polaris RZR Pro R Factory is the new standard in desert racing.

Built on the proven Pro R platform and engineered specifically for competition, the Factory model brings:

  • Reinforced desert chassis
  • Long-travel racing suspension
  • 255 HP H.O. engine
  • Baja-tested durability

It’s not just fast.
It’s not just tough.
It’s the machine everyone else is trying to catch.

And in 2025, no one could.

“Winning the Baja 1000 takes more than speed — it takes a machine you can trust and a team that never quits,” said Alex Scheuerell, Director of Off-Road Motorsports, Polaris. “From mile one to mile 835, the RZR Pro R Factory delivered unmatched performance.”

An Unstoppable Season Comes to an End

With a Baja 1000 win, a full-season sweep, and the top three championship positions locked down, Polaris RZR Factory Racing closes 2025 as the undisputed force in desert UTV competition.

Three words define the year:
Fast. Relentless. Unbeatable.

The target on their backs is bigger than ever. The competition knows it. The fans know it. And now the entire off-road world waits to see how the Polaris powerhouse follows up an historic season.
